Facilitated By: Ainsley Nies and Chris Sims

Program Description:

Deepen your Agile and Open Space practice and knowledge, in a self-directed learning and professional networking environment, co-hosted by PMI and BayAPLN (Bay Area Agile Project Leadership Network)! This conference provides a space for participants, assisted by Agile practitioners, to create their own agenda. All participants have the opportunity to initiate and host sessions on topics important to them. Sessions may cover a project management, Agile, or any topic related to the conference theme. The conference framework includes Opening the space, creating sessions and a Market Place, attending sessions, and Closing the space. BayAPLN’s Ainsley Nies and Chris Sims will open the space in a large room, explain Open Space principles and process, and facilitate participants in creating and presenting their session topics. Topics may apply to specific industries or company divisions, concepts, techniques or tools, problems, or experiences. Topics are then announced and posted to create the Market Place where participants browse the postings, identify sessions they would like to attend throughout the day, and move on to the first session when ready. Participants come together again at the end of the day, for the Closing. Participants share insights and teachings, and create action plans to move forward with the learning. In addition, there are opportunities to present ideas to the group for collaboration.

Handouts on Open Space fundamentals are provided. Otherwise, participants take notes during the Agile-based sessions. Agile practitioners are on-hand to assist participants with their learning. Participants are responsible for uploading their notes on a wiki provided by Bay APLN.

This event is for anyone interested in Agile, project management or Scrum -- no certification or pre-requisites are necessary
